The organization performs traditional Chinese puppet shows around China and the world, to much praise and affection.
The film introduces viewers to two puppeteers, a puppet master who has worked with puppets for over 38 years and a young female newcomer to the organization. As the master reflects on his long career and the new comer looks to the future, the fate of puppeteering seems to lie in the balance.
