The story, set in the 1930s, features a houseman, a rich young woman and a landlords son among others.
Wu Jun, the director and writer of the series, said the series focuses on a group of young people in wartime.
Huang Weide, who is known for his role in the hit TV series Nirvana in Fire, plays the lead role, Tian Xiaoman, an earthy and passionate houseman.
