[Photo/Xinhua]The 68th Cannes International Film Festival will be held between May 13 and 24 this year. While the awards take place inside the venue, much of the publicity and excitement happens outside on the red carpet.Celebrities, as a rule, wear magnificent attire to show off their graceful figures as well as attract public attention. However, the organizing committee announced that selfies will not be allowed on this years red carpet.Cannes Artistic Director Thierry Frémaux said that the committee had to implement this rule for fear that taking selfies were likely to seriously hinder security at the entire event. The security guards may be happy, but not all were pleased with this new rule.Smart phone companies may be annoyed as their sales volume could be negatively affected and super stars may be disappointed that they could no longer share their latest selfie photos on social media.Domestically, the 5th Beijing International Film Festival will be held from April 16 to 23, and the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival from June 13 to 21. To date, taking selfies on these two festivals have not been banned.Previous Page1 2 3 4 5 6 Next PagePrevious Page1 2 3 4 5 6 Next Page8.03KRelated ArticlesChinese stars dazzle Cannes67th Cannes Film FestivalHighlights of closing ceremony of CannesJiang Wen promotes Gone with the bullets in CannesChinese film Coming Home screened in CannesTagsCannes selfie banPhotoPhotographer focuses lens on Chinas rail historyChinese Bride Wars set for Qixi releaseMilitary castle of Ming Dynasty under restorationModern BeijngerCeremony to offer sacrifices to water held at Dujiang Dam in SW ChinaSteeping the leavesArtFilmCelebrityFashionFoodTravelFormer PLA pilot creates Silk Road statues for ItalyArt lovers propel auction leaders growthPhotographer focuses lens on Chinas rail historyPhotographer focuses lens on Chinas rail historyXu Bing comments on the Mets collectionChinese-born Tsais works on display at Tate Modern in 2016Modern BeijngerPhoto exhibition highlights countries of socialist familyArtistic side of Wang ZhongjunSpring breeze and poetic scenesFusion of Western and Chinese styles on displayPicasso painting tipped for record sale unveiled in Hong KongCrossing the pond, landing with a thudChinese Bride Wars set for Qixi releaseChinas newest superhero named after a breakfast wrapStreaming videos draw top talentsTV show traces Maritime Silk RoadBig bucks in funny businessSelfies banned at 68th Cannes red carpetNew evidence presented to second trial of Cross-Straits copyright caseDisney to make live-action Winnie the Pooh movieFurious 7 takes massive start in North AmericaReport examines Chinese films impact overseasOrdinary World could lead to a wave of TV series adapted from Mao Dun Literature Prize worksNi Ni graces fashion magazineIn memory of movie star Leslie CheungAsias most gorgeous facesEntertainment weekly photos: March 28 – April 3Star Tracks in AprilActress Xu Lu practices balletGong Li visits Loreal research center in ShanghaiAsias most gorgeous facesActor Lee Byung-hun welcomes baby boyRobin Williams wife, children head to court in estate fightActress Liu Zi graces cover of Harpers BazaarTaylor Swift named one of Worlds Greatest LeadersMiss China isnt just a pretty face, former beauty queen saysZhang Ziyi attends fashion activity in TokyoRunway Brides2015 Miss Kyrgyz beauty pageant concludedSino style at China Fashion WeekModels present creations by Italian designer at China Fashion WeekHighlights from China Fashion WeekSong Jia at Louis Vuitton eventCreations presented at China Fashion WeekFashion briefFinnish fur keeps pace with Chinese marketSports star gets model makeoverTender leaves seen at tea garden in Chinas HubeiOrigins of British-style afternoon tea in ShanghaiUN highlights food safety on World Health DayVigilantes for safe foodSwiss students visit tea garden in HangzhouTastes of honeySharing the best wines, and the costAn A for Bistrot BIndian adventureEat beatGetting to the meat of the matterA seasonal feast of spring lambTop 10 most beautiful terraces in ChinaMountain paradiseGlimpses of Lhasas holiday seasonTop 10 destinations for female travelersTop 10 seldom-seen views around the worldQuanzhou charmsYunnan, a travel heavenCity of SpringsMorning sun showers snow-covered Great WallMixing old with new in central Vietnam2013 Top 10 Tourism Destinations Editors PicksMore Chinese water towns apply for heritage listingFast and furious, with an eye on ChinaHot wordsPalace MuseumEasy TalkChinese Valentines DayGaokaoStart of AutumnCulture InsiderTop 10sTeaDragon Boat FestivalChinese at CannesVideoIrish Wave: A conversation on warEasy Talk Special: Never too young to live the entrepreneur dreamEasy Talk: Time to lure more foreign visitorsColumnsRaymond Zhou:X-Ray
