[Photo/IC]The six episodes of the Rule of law in China, a prime time documentary TV series broadcast by Chinas Central Television, covering the legislature, governance, jurisdiction and law-abiding citizens, showcased the achievements that have been made since 2012 in establishing the rule of law in the country.
At a time when a number of problems have arisen amid the countrys rapid economic and social transformation, the central authorities have promoted the rule of law as an essential guarantee for the lasting stability and security of China.The documentary series highlighted some basic principles indispensable to the rule of law such as the protection of the civil rights of individual citizens as well as the healthy development of the market economy, and it presented vivid examples of the deepening of the rule of law in China since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012.
It showed that with the advancing of the rule of law, everyone, no matter their wealth or status, is equal before the law.
The series attracted a large audience, because it succeeded in showing the close links between peoples interests and the advancing of the rule of the law by means of scientific legislation, strict law enforcement, fair judicial justice and law-abiding citizens.
More important, the series conveyed the message that nobody can be a bystander to the deepening rule of law, and everyone has the duty and responsibility to be a law-abiding citizen; implementing the rule of law should be a consensus and conscious act of everyone.
In fact, raising peoples awareness of the law as the documentary sought to do is of great importance to the nation, as the rule of law, along with the deepening of reforms and the strengthening of the Partys self-discipline, is essential to realize the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Related StoriesJudges, legal community do our rule of law proudDissidents jump to redefine rule of lawDocumentary notes gains to rule of lawHighlights of 2016 Annual Report on Promoting the Rule of LawCartoonsImported garbageGreen new homeSouth China SeaHate has no home thereSteve Bannon is out at White HouseFreedom of navigation?Most Viewed in 24 HoursFroum trendsHow do foreigners view govts push against desertification?Is mahjong gaining popularity worldwide?ColumnistsUS trade policy shows it seeks to be both player and refereeTrump will find there is no quick fix to end war in AfghanistanForumFeatured ContributorsTraveling on board Chinas trains for 30 yearsJoint drill dangerous game for PeninsulaChina Daily Bureau ChiefsChongqing and Chengdu City Cluster on faster trackXi-Ma meeting brings historic opportunitiesStar BloggersThe past 5 years: Chinas global leadershipGetting stared at in China: Cultural curiosity, globalization and racismBACK TO THE TOPHOMECHINAWORLDBUSINESSLIFESTYLECULTURETRAVELWATCHTHISSPORTSOPINIONREGIONALFORUMNEWSPAPERChina Daily PDFChina Daily E-paperMOBILECopyright 1995 -var oTime = new Date();
