The movement, named CHANGE HIVSTORY, aims to encourage every person who has ever been sexually active to have an HIV test via a social media campaign featuring a moving video.
“CHANGE HIVSTORY is about creating a movement here in Vancouver to change the course of history by changing the course of HIV,” said Dr. Reka Gustafson, medical director of Communicable Disease Control for Vancouver Coastal Health.
The city has made headway toward combating the deadly disease. An HIV awareness campaign named “Its Different Now” has helped increase testing rates in Vancouver by 37 percent. A local hospital also started to provide routine HIV testing in June.Related StoriesDaily pill to prevent HIV 2012-07-18 10:17U.S. FDA OKs first drug to prevent HIV infection 2012-07-17 13:43Human trials start for HIV vaccine 2012-01-04 13:55Study offers new clues to effective HIV vaccine 2010-11-08 08:58Older adults get HIV diagnosis later, die sooner 2010-08-09 09:29Editors PicksStarved for attentionFujian food fantasiesA bite of ZhejiangEat, Drink and PlayMost ViewedMore Food NewsA more convivial dining experienceHave a bite of seafood soup with funMakye Ame restaurant2012 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition to start in TaipeiSeafood Chuan Cuisine  Yunnan Cuisine  CantoneseCuisine   Vegetarian  Italian FoodVideoSlidePodcastPicturesFollow the AmbassadorsReturning to a land of bicyclesWorlds top three advance at Shanghai MastersAmazing electrifying stunt
